The Healthy Start program is available to all Pregnant Women and Mothers with infants in Seminole County. This program is voluntary and eligibility is based on the screening score or referral - not financial factors. A Free Health Screening is provided at your first visit with the Doctor or at the Hospital after your baby is born. This helps to identify if Your Baby is At-Risk for Poor Outcomes Such as:

  • Pre-term birth
  • Health problems
  • Fetal/infant death
  • Low birth weight
  • Development delays

Benefits and Services:

Healthy Start helps all women obtain the following medical services, social services and instructional support: Assistance in Spanish is available (Hablamos Español).

  • Baby Care Instructions
  • Nutrition Education Referrals
  • WIC Referrals
  • Substance Abuse and Mental Health
  • Community Referrals as needed

You can become a Healthy Start Participant by asking for your
Healthy Start Screening from your Doctor or midwife and
when your baby is born.
