The Seminole County Department's Breast and Cervical Screening Program provides services that may include:
- a clinical breast examination
- mammogram
- pelvic examination
These services are provided to:
- uninsured
- underinsured
- Women with limited incomes, ages 50 to 64 at no cost.
The health department coordinates the tri-county ( Orange, Lake, and Seminole County) Florida Breast and Cervical Cancer Early Detection Program. This program offers free pap smears and mammograms for eligible women 50-64 years old. The goal of the program is to reduce the impact of these cancers through education, early detection, and treatment.
In 2005, this program provided 250 pap smears and 486 mammograms to women. |
